Losing our history: Letters to the Editor : It was noted in the March 1st, 2012, St John’s Globe and Mail ,that John Gallishaws’ book, “Trenching at Gallipoli” had held the First Newfoundland Regiment in high esteem, and that 1,100 men , from this NFLD Regiment went into Battle at the Bay of Suvla and only 175 answered “HERE,” next day.
There, of course, were the politcal overtones of the Canadian Government not having a delegate at the ANZAC DAY Celebration, this April 28th, 2012. It was only acknowledging the Australian and New Zealand contingent.
I walk everywhere in GF-W and getting to know why streets have certain names…is NB. The undulating up and down, down and up gives one so so many perspectives; some times you are so busy looking at the scenery, you forget to ask why A STREET WAS GIVEN A NAME.
I finally learned how to put a picture up with script.
