Before I left Banff, Kathleen who has done the Camino Walk, suggested that I watch THE WAY, a film starring Martin Sheen, revealing the process, & what occurred on his walk along the Pilgrims Progress…from Spain through the Pyrennes.
It suggested adventure, as this walk, the way he walked it, was entirely on a whim, without support systems(he did have a credit card), but generally he was exploring the intrinsic factor of such a walk, a walk that pilgrims have done for centuries.
Kathleen and I went for a shared ri b meal at Toogougou’s and I went to the Grayhound Depot, with plans to get to the village of Vernun.
The Roger’s Pass was stormy and the bus driver, thankfully was skilled in the black ice, spirally up and down roads.
He explained that there are numerous Snow Sheds along the trail,Trans Canada Highway, as a means of keeping the road viable when avalanches occur. I took some photos of the tunnels we went through(I try to sit in the front seat of the bus, as the windows are so large and well it’s more comfortable.
