The Nicksy household mirrors Cesar Millan’s philosophy, in his literature; books that grace the coffee table & bookcases in the livingroom area—even the Dog Whisperer TV program is recorded on the big screen that looms high in a corner by their kitchen.
Have you ever been influenced by a mentor, witnessed a philosophy of … say a hospital’s objective for Patient Care(framed and placed in the elevator), or possibly been privy to the Socratic Oath that a physician takes and hopefully lives by….
Cesar Millan is Cathy Nicksy’s teacher and she has an ongoing relationship with him, referring to his philosophy for all the variables that present themselves, however there is one golden thread, a nugget, that is forever present at Almost Home Boarding for Dogs centre. Her intelligent commitment and continuity of care prevails.
This woman has found her passion: IT is her and SHE is it.
Her dedication and driven need to be the best she can be in this venue is enviable.
Dogs are beautifully simple and I learn more from them then they learn from me, she says. Animals live in the present, that is not saying that they do not have memories, they just do not obsess about the past or the future.
Every day is a challenge. Every day is a day that I am grateful for….because of this HERE and NOW mind-set.
I listen to Cathy speak about the needs of her dogs with different temperaments. They all have the same needs that Mother Nature gave them. They need Exercise/ Discipline/Affection..in that order.
They communicate: first with their Hearing/Scent/Sight.
Rules-Boundaries-Limitations: In nature, the pack leader makes the rules and sticks to them. Cathy Nicksy is the Alpha Male at Almost Home Boarding for Dogs.
She was instrumental in finding a home, away from my home, for my Blue Tick Hound, Kasey. The Fritz and Penny Haring Home was a home that I visited this month. I witnessed a dog who had returned to ALL her ways..ALL her needs, the needs that Mother Nature had given her , were being met.
So, now you know one of the reasons why I personally have such respect for this woman and her facility.
