The yellow Buttercup is best in July, just as the mid-July sun seems to be at it’s sunny best too. Queen-Annes-Lace is randomly placed, as well as the Meadowrues are tall stately plants that are laddered with small white flowers. The Fireweed does its diagonal dance and the Sumac still comes up. The Field Daisy is my favorite. It is a reminder of my second son’s birth. The Chicory’s periwinkle blue is a beautiful contrast to the Black-Eyed Susan , & while I am on the water, I am so taken with the Water Lily and the Pickerelweeds, that place themselves in a quiet reverie.
