There are 3 horses, whom I have connected with in the past few days.
Alphabet is Lee’s horse. the more toffee colored horse, the one who went for help to Leona’s home when Lee had an aneurysm in 2001. She had been riding and fell off Alphabet.
The next horse is Ace, he is the one that I rode. Ace was, well,… Ace was everything to me. How does someone thank a HORSE.
Because of Ace, ///I saw this beautiful Dorothy Knowles ‘ Prairie, from a completely different perspective. Her paintings, mostly in pastel and watercolor mirror the essence of this space.
This Saskatchewan River Valley, studded with poplar bluffs, reveals a distant range of hills, shimmering against the sky like a mirage. \\\\\This is where her recurring theme originates and emerges.
Leona’s horse is named Cash.
She tells me that Cash is an Appaloosa. He reminds me of Tonto’s horse, Scout, in
Wild Bill Hickocks western films(you recall the time, when you were a kid and all you wanted to be when you grew up,was a cowboy, with a holster, guns, cowboy boots and a banjo???)
