JUST OBSERVE THE BODY LANGUAGE OF THESE PHOTOS.
I am the one with the woolens and hiking boots, who has just left a colder climate in Canada; the photos taken of me are static, standing or sitting photos beside LANDMARKS Norma, Marlie and Leslie are all well-integrated into this land’s BIODIVERSITY/ THEY ARE ALL APART OF THIS PLACE, THIS RHYTHM.
The enlarged garden photo illustrates Marlie and Tom’s commitment to the land.
The Totem poll reveals a Pender Island interest in the symbolic aboriginal renderings of the woman’s role within the community, and certainly Leslie’s commitment to this community was revealed in SO MANY WAYS.
We toured around Pender Island, not only meeting all Leslie’s family; BELLA( a beautiful personality ..Siberian Husky/Golden Retriever+a Parrot+ Jackson, the Lynx-like cat with snowshoe-like paws. Her gracious husband, who had Carl obviously contributed to this hill-top beautiful GOR-GEE-OUS RUSTIC PROPERTY.
The British/Indian influence is seen strongly here in the architecture (..the parliament buildings and Empress Hotel), and because my friend Norma is UP & ABOUT walking, WE ventured outside and took in ALL THE SIGHTS…NIGHT AND DAY.
What I will remember most is the FEELING; the air, the soft fragrance of spring flowers in the air. I will also remember the hospitality & friendship, with gratitiude.
THis has been the Vancouver Island Blog, for now(MUCH MORE HISTORY..later). Susan
