The first photos that might illustrate this are taken in CANMORE, ALBERTA.
We hiked up the trail to GRASSI LAKE, some shots taken are before the ascent and bring into view THE TREE SISTERS MOUNTAIN RANGE(one peak might be occluded with cloud cover).
This blog is done not only to illustrate that these friends are aligned with the land, but that their heritage went back to a family who totally embraced the prairies and then later the ROCKIE MOUNTAINS. THEY WERE A FAMILY OF SKIERS, and it is most interesting to note that Mary-Jane and Kathleen’s sister SHEILAGH PIKE was one of the first persons to be on the CANADIAN NATIONAL SKI TEAM.
EVEN MORE THAN THIS THAT SHEILAGH WAS NAMED AFTER SHEILAGH NE GEIRA, ONE OF THE FIRST, a EUROPEAN WOMAN TO SETTLE IN NORTH AMERICA.
Folklore tells that Sheilagh Ne Geira was the daughter of an IRISH CHIEFTON in the early 1600s, sailing from a convent school in France, back to Ireland, and was intercepted by the pirate (employed by Elizabeth the 1st) , Admiral Peter Easton, whom she later married and lived with in Carbonear, NFLD.
To view the upper portion of the blog, one will see the upper pathway from Grassi Lake, where the SUN’S RAYS SHINE in the central area of the PETROGRAPHS, (pictures etched out of rock, hundreds of years ago, by Aboriginal people’s), specifically AT SUMMER SOLSTICE, JUNE 21ST.
WHAT IS SO ABSOLUTELY PURE ABOUT THIS AREA, IS AN energy that is evident.
The restaurant photo’s were of GREEK NIGHT in Banff, a little dancing and VERY good food.
The next blog will be of the VIA RAIL TRAIN FROM JASPER TO VANCOUVER.( and in due time, I will assemble Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton… AND everything in between, the PRAIRIE FOR ONE)
