One speaker ended the evening by saying that one woman’s wish is to greet each day with AN OPEN MIND, AN OPEN HEART AND THE CAPACITY TO LISTEN.
The 10th anniversary of International Women’s Day was held last night in the Canadian Legion Auditorium, in GF-W, NFLD…this is the designated day, MARCH 8TH, which has been chosen world-wide, as being the time to acknowledge women ‘s contributions and future contributions to this planet.
There was a sit-down delicious dinner and at one point, as the band on stage, struck the significant cord, the lead singer boomed out “John Lennon’s Imagine” more than 300 women stood-up in synchronicity, raising their battery operated flickering candles and joined in, in the singing , and rhythmically moving motions to this now legend song.
